State Judging Director: Meagan Lewis
My name is Meagan Lewis and I am the current State Judging Director for Nevada. I have been involved in Nevada gymnastics since I was ten years old. I was a local Las Vegas gymnast, I attended Utah State University on a full-ride gymnastics scholarship, and upon retiring began judging to stay active in a sport that I love. I have been judging since 2002. Gymnastics is my passion and I am glad that I am able to give back to a sport that gave me so much.
Financial Assistant: Alexandria Hammond
I was a competitive gymnast for over 12 years in Las Vegas where I grew up. I have been judging for 9 years. When not judging, I am at my day job helping people smile. To help myself smile, I enjoy wine, riding my ATV, and reading.
Secretary/Ethics: Brandi Loffer
Assigner-North: Carmen Nolan
Carmen has been a judge since 1980 and most recently became a certified judge in Tumbling and Trampoline. She began her gymnastics career at 10 years old competing in artistic gymnastics and later in rhythmic. After retiring from competition over 30 years ago, she couldn’t imagine a life without gymnastics so she began coaching, as well as judging. Her biggest passion was studying dance and bringing it into the gym to teach ballet and movement, as well as doing choreography. Her NAWGJ responsibilities have included being State Judging Director from 1986-1994 and is currently the Northern Nevada assigner. Carmen is also on the USAG NV State board at-large in which her experience as an athlete, coach, judge, and parent of gymnasts has benefitted her in helping to make important decisions for gymnastics in Nevada. Carmen has four children of her own and is an elementary school teacher. “My favorite part about staying involved is getting to travel and going into gyms to do clinics and critiques. I love helping to better our athletes, to help maximize each gymnast reach their potential.”

Assigner-South: Julie Jay
I have been involved in gymnastics since I was 12, competing for a YMCA in Orlando Florida and my high school. I began coaching at age 15 to help pay for gym fees, and became a fulltime coach after high school. I have coached for over 30 years, having brought many teams and individuals to numerous state, regional and national championships. I also coached Team Gym and participated in two World Gymnastradas, along with my family in 2007 where we were in the FIG Gala in Austria. I became a judge and managed to coach and judge for many years, I have judged many regional Championships and I also did a Level 9 Westerns. My rating is a National and I have been on Florida’s NAWGJ board and Nevada’s as the clinic director and now the ethics director. All three of my children participated in gymnastics, Tumbling and trampoline and Team Gym. I have a wonderful husband, three dogs and two horses. If I’m not judging a gym meet, you can find me supporting my kids in their many activities or I’m behind a camera taking pictures.
Education: Denise Jensen
Denise has been judging gymnastics for over 20 years. She served as the Nevada State Judging Director for 10 years. She is experienced in planning and directing gymnastics meets, and enjoys the travel and opportunity to see great gymnastics as she judges NCAA meets. She has 9 children, and almost 19 grandchildren, and her family is her biggest priority. “I appreciate the opportunity I have to judge gymnastics in Nevada; I have been able to watch some of the best gymnasts in the country as they grow and develop not only their talents, but their character as well. I look forward to watching our 2032 Olympians as they begin their competitive careers this year!”

I started gymnastics as a child in Dallas, TX and went on to earn my college spending money by coaching. After receiving a BS from Rhodes College and MS from North Carolina State University, I headed west to Silicon Valley for a career in technology. I never lost my love for the sport so in 2013 I obtained my 4/5 rating and became a board member in 2015.
